June 6, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Animeniacs anime club meets. June 15-Aug. 10, 4 p.m. Mondays: Stories in the Parks. Preschoolers are invited for stories and songs with Wilmette librarians in local parks. The 30-minute programs will be held at Maple Park, June 15 and July 13; Thornwood Park, June 22 and Aug. 3; and Vattmann Park, July 6 and Aug. 10. Gather near the tennis courts at each park. In the event of rain or extreme heat, storytimes will take place at the library. June 17, 4-5 p.m.: Discussion of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. June 18, 7 p.m.: Screening of "The Lion King," rated G. June 23, 6:30 p.m.: Family picnic, featuring a performance of "Dr. Gesundheit's Wild World." June 30, 7 p.m.: Screening of "Hoot," rated PG.
