U.S. District Judge James B. Moran, longtime resident of southeast Evanston, died Tuesday, April 21st at his home. He was 78. Judge Moran was born in Evanston Judge Moran, who was preceded in death by his second wife, Nancy, is survived by his widow, Janet Remen; four children from his first marriage which ended in divorce: John (Sally), Jennifer (Tommy), Sarah (Carlos), and Polly (Dario); four step-children from his second marriage: Katie Tucker Trippi, Cynthia Tucker (Constantine), Laura Tucker Giangreco (Peter), and Michael Tucker; and five children of his widow: Susan King (Bob), Carol Remen (Jim), Peggy Tarkington (Don), Lee Remen (Kirsten), and Tom. He leaves 31 grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Nancy Larson and Sue Schram of Reston, Virginia; and Martha Thompson who resides in Escanaba.
