The Wilmette Fine Arts Commission launched "Arts Aeareness Month" with the opening of a Community Photography Exhibit at North Shore Community Bank in Wilmette on Oct. 3. Fifteen local photographers exhibited work: Cathi Borushek, Linda Oyama Bryan, Sid Condit, Bill Crofton, Paula Delehanty, Rich Fisher, Didane Hamilton, Gina Jalakas, Beth Lambrecht, Jan Loew, Jody O'Connor, George Pfortner, Ron Testa, Pat Velasco and Ellie Weisbard. Attendees at a reception were treated to a performance by cellist Johannes Gray, age 11, of WIlmette.
A program was also held Jan. 11 at the WIlmette Community Recreation Center. It featured a collaboration with the Wilmette Commission for Persons witih Disabilities. A concert featured the New Trier High School's "High Five Choir" directed by Susan Vaughan, pianist George Radosavljevic and dancers Ariel Cisneros and Jennifer McNeil from the Center for Creative Dance of Wilmette
