- School classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 5 . Friday, Jan. 9 , marks the end of the first semester.
The next School Board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, in the school's Neumann Lounge.
Registration for the 2009-2010 school year will open for current and new St. Joseph families on Monday, Jan. 5 .
The next school Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6 in St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Hara's second-grade class will participate in the liturgy.
The St. Joseph basketball teams travel to St. Joan of Arc on Tuesday. Varsity girls play at 4 p.m.; seventh-grade boys play at 5 p.m.; sixth-grade girls play at 6 p.m. and sixth-grade boys play at 7 p.m.
The St. Joseph Varsity Basketball teams host St. Margaret Mary Jan. 8. All are encouraged to come cheer on the girls varsity team at 6 p.m. and the boys varsity team at 7 p.m.
The sixth-grade students will travel to Camp MacLean for a two-day field trip Jan. 8 and 9.
Catholic high school entrance exams for eighth-grade students will take place on the morning of Jan. 10.
The school thanks all families for their donations to the school's food drive.
Special thanks to Book Fair Co-Chairs Sharon Murphy and Cathy Daly, volunteer coordinator Colleen Golden and all the volunteers. A portion of the proceeds raised will be used to donate books to a local Down Syndrome Awareness Center in support of their early literacy program.
The St. Joseph School Enrichment Committee thanks all those who donated coats, hats and mittens to the Winter Clothing Drive.
The St. Joseph Women's Club thanks all those who participated in the Catholic Charities Toy Drive.
The school hosted the annual Football Banquet for the Wilmette Catholic Varsity and Junior Varsity teams took place on Nov. 21. Each team is made up of players from St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier. Coaches, players and their families from both schools attended. On the Varsity team, individual awards were presented to Patrick Bradley (Most Improved), Patrick O'Dea (Most Improved) Will Weir (Most Valuable Player) Anthony Sernus (Special Coaches/Leadership Award) and Joseph Hancuch (Special Coaches/ Leadership Award). The team thanks Kathy Firth and all the parent volunteers who helped with the banquet.
