Alex Gorbunoff, of Wilmette, died on July 4th at the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center in Skokie. He was 98.
Born June 24th, 1910 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
He married Heidi Charity in 1936, fathered two sons, Harry and William, and one daughter, Jeanne. His wife Heidi died in 1973. Both sons also preceded him in death.
Charlotte Troxel Lindar, widow of Albert J. Lindar, was his second wife. Alex and Charlotte celebrated 30 years together this past December.
Survivors include his daughter Jeanne (Shaun) Begley; grandchildren Michael (Elizabeth) Begley, Thomas Begley, Bonnie (Matthew) Kaplan, Natalie Gorbunoff, Karina (Andrew) Wilhelms, Erica (Alec) Hanson; Step-grandchildren Richard (Brenda) Lindar, Alisa (Michael) Courtney, Deborah (Mort) Mulliken, Robin (Jay) Warren; great-grandchildren Brian, Alexander, and Anne Begley, Elizabeth & Harrison Kaplan.
