Wilmette's Eric Meierdierks, qualified for the Illinois Open at the Traditions at Chevy Chase in Wheeling June 16, boosting the area entrant list to eight. The Open is scheduled for July 28-30 at Hawthorn woods.

Glencoe's Jay Dempsey tied for fourth while Glenview entrants Wan Yoo Kim and Ryan Dorner each qualified by tying for 10th

Illinois State Junior Amateur

Winnetka's William Wright and Glenview's Quinlan Prchal finished in a three-way tie for second among 14 local qualifiers.

Casey Kenny of Glenview and Julius Leterman of Northbrook tied for fifth while Winnetka's Michael Hermanson tied for seventh. Evanston's Michael Peters joined a tie for 11th with Jeff Smart and Adam Johnson, both of Winnetka. Winnetka's Joseph Boehrer and Matthew Haller along with Glenview's James Cho tied for 17th.

In a tie for 25th, were Glenview's Billy Anton and Wilmette's Sam Hine. Evanston's Sean Bostrom tied for 30th and was the final local qualifier.

North Shore Junior Open

Three rain delays occurred during Friday's annual North Shore Open. Only the Junior Boys (ages 14-16) were able to play. Despite the interruptions, Glenview's Quinlan Prchal won the title.

Winnetka's Tim Denenberg tied for fourth. Jordan Stein of Glencoe and Ross Bowen of Winnetka tied for seventh.

Illinois Junior Golf
The IJGA regional was held June 16.

The top four positions among Junior Girls (ages 14-16) were claimed by Winnetka golfers. Molly Hulseman took the top spot and was followed by Dana Gullen , Kristin Wright and Elizabeth Szokol. Wilmette's Katy O'Malley came in sixth.

In the Senior Girls field, Winnetka's Brittany Rendell placed second. Rendell then won the girls flight at the Bettinardi Geneva Classic.

Among Senior Boys at Deerpath, Wilmette's Alex Santostefano was the winner. Evanston's Sean Bostrom tied for ninth at 79.

CDGA Amateur

Philip Arouca of the Wilmette Golf Club was the final local entrant to qualify for the Chicago District Golf Association Amateur championship. Arouca tied for fifth at the Calumet Country Club June 16.

The championship concludes today at Riverside Golf Club.

Youth Development Program

During Friday's nine-hole event for boys 10-11 at Maple Meadows golf course, Winnetka's William Seaman tied for sixth. In the 18-hole field for girls, Glencoe's Katie Kim was third.

At Phillips Park Golf Course last Thursday, Drew Langan of Winnetka tied for second among boys 12-13. Ian Wright of Winnetka tied for sixth and Northbrook's Nicholas Jan was eighth.

In the boys 6-9 field at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park June 18, Glenview's Jarrett Prchal took fifth.

At Foss Park June 17, Jonathan Goldstein of Northbrook tied for second among boys 12-13. Jackson Mihevc of Evanston and Nicholas Jan of Northbrook tied for fifth. In the girls 12-13 field, Winnetka's Callie Nelson was fifth.
