Chicago filmmaker Joshua Russell of Humble Pie Productions has cast two boys from Glrnview/ Northfield's Christian Heritage Academy to be in a new comedy called "Fancypants" Jackson Dunn, 11, of Wilmette and Noah Rogers, 9, of Evanston have leading roles. The film which also stars "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Robert Carradine, is being shot locally this month.
"American Flag" by Highland Park native filmmaker Phillip Koch premieres on PBS July 3.
Two students from the Evanston based Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago, Matthew Lipman, 16, and Andrew Tung, 13, both won the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation of Chicago's scholarship. Alexandra Woo, 8, of Glenview, took first place awards in a competition on May 4. Frederick Placido Keady of Northfield also won a first place award in a competition May 18.
