Carol Brierly Golin, 79, of Chicago, formerly of Glenview and Glencoe, died June 19. Ms. Golin was born Nov. 30, 1928 in Bartlett. She created an art gallery at New Trier High School in honor of her daughter Ann. In 1981 the car carrying her daughter, Ann Brierly, who was about to begin college at the University of Wisconsin, was struck by a drunk driver, resulting in her death and that of one other passenger. Survivors include her husband, Milton; one daughter, Amy Brierly (Greg Gressle); one son, John Brierly (Amy Rutledge); one step-son, James (Marsha) Golin; two grandchildren, Margaret Ann and Andrew Chase Brierly; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John "Jack" Francis Brierly; her daughter Ann, and a sister, Ann (Don) Guetschow.
