he speech and debate team placed second Jan. 26 at the Chicago Catholic Forensics League Tournament at St. Ignatius College Preparatory. Dan Gordon '10 of Glenview won an award for best legislation. Marko Jurkovic '09 of Lincolnwood placed fourth, Tommy Ball '08 of Glenview placed third, Ronnie Sommers '09 of Highland Park and Dan Sullivan '09 of Northbrook placed second and Christina Baworowsky '10 of Wilmette, Dan Gordon '10 of Glenview and Tom Nally '08, also of Glenview, all placed first. Tom Nally '08 of Glenview placed second out of 120 competitors in the Chicago Catholic Forensic League Student Congress, qualifying him for the Catholic National Tournament to be held in Appleton, Wis., in May.

The architecture club hosted Loyola parent Gregory Tazalla of Glenview and his Abbott Laboratories colleagues, who presented their company's plan for Chicago's proposed stadium layout for the 2016 Olympics.
