- IHSA Regional Speech Contest for Individual Events was held over the Feb. 2-3 weekend at Maine West High School. The Trevians qualified all 13 events to the IHSA Sectional at Oak Lawn High School, and won the school sweepstakes.

The top four students in each event advance to sectional. Congratulations to: Wendi Gu (junior), champion in Oratorical Declamation and champion in Dramatic Interpretation; Frank Austin (junior), champion in Prose Reading; Frank Austin and Sarah Mallory (juniors), champions in Humorous Duet Acting; Sarah Mallory, fourth in Humorous Interpretation; Jacqueline Sutherland (sophomore), champion in Oratory; Hana Bajramovic (junior), champion in Verse Reading; David Walchak (freshman), second in Extemporaneous Speaking; Michael Gaschler (senior), second in Radio News Casting and second in Original Comedy; Will McGauran (senior), third in Special Occasion Speaking; Daryl McSweeney (junior), second in Impromptu Speaking; and Diana Kontsevaia and Jenny Vihon (juniors), second in Dramatic Duet Acting.
"Pardon Me Boys!" An Andrew Sisters Musical Tribute will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, in the McGee Theatre at the Winnetka campus.

Annual New Trier Choir-Opera and Chamber Orchestra annual musical Thursday, March 6, through Saturday, March 8, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9 in Gaffney Auditorium. This year's spring production is "Guys and Dolls."
AIDS Awareness Day was held yesterday, Feb. 13, in the Winnetka Campus Gaffney Auditorium. Students Lauryn Krause and Becca Sita are co-heads of the AIDS Coalition club. Faculty co-sponsors are Daniel Bender, Spanish teacher, and Ellen Zemel, social worker.
The guest speakers at AIDS Awareness Day included the following professionals: Dan Anthon, a teacher at the Art Institute of Chicago and an art therapist; Bob Bowers, a long-time survivor of HIV/AIDS ; Dale Green, a paralegal with the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago; Anne James-Noonan, New Trier Performing Arts coordinator and theater teacher.
Turnabout Dance will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the gyms on the Winnetka Campus.
"The Tubeho Project: Rwandan Survivors of Genocide," is on display in the Ann Brierly Gallery on New Trier's Winnetka campus through the end of the month.
Musical instruments, prom dresses, tuxedos and other prom attire may be donated to benefit New Orleans students and musicians.
The "Hey NOLA, we didn't forget you!" New Trier Jazz Ensemble will use the money from sales of its newly-released CD, "25 Years And Counting; Celebrating the Silver Anniversary of the Frank Mantooth Jazz Festival at New Trier High School" to build a New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity house in "Musicians' Village."
New Trier Television is the community's exclusive educational access cable channel. The station is broadcast via Comcast Cable on Channel 18 in Winnetka, Glencoe and Kenilworth, and on Channel 16 in Wilmette and Northfield.
