- Students at Harper School will take part in a school-wide community service project during their Valentine's Day parties. The Kindness Connection is a group that "connects" the needs of local charities with groups that can complete service projects to address those needs. Begun by two McKenzie School moms, the program was piloted at McKenzie School.
The next PTO meeting is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Feb. 20. Coffee and bagels will be available at 9 a.m. The guest speaker, Kelly (Jackson) Fergus, District 39's elementary foreign language coordinator, will discuss the Spanish program at Highcrest and the necessary changes to the curriculum for school year 2008-09.
Harper's party for families is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. March 9 in the school gym.
No open gym is scheduled for Monday due to the school holiday. The next open gym is scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 25.
The school needs parent volunteers to help in the garden during lunch recess for most of April and a few days in May.
The yearbook editors are seeking pictures from the Harper Hoedown; the Aug. 23, 2007, storm; the first day of school; and field trips. The deadline is March 3.
