Miss Mary D. Hoffmann, formerly of Wilmette, died in Tucson, Ariz., on March 28. She was 77. Miss Hoffmann was a descendant of the Bartholomew Hoffman Family, immigrants from the region of Trier, Germany, which settled in Wilmette (then Gross Point) in 1843. She was born in Wilmette. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Kirk of Tucson; sisters-in-law Marie Hoffmann of Tucson, and Marion Hoffmann of Wilmette; and nieces and nephews Joan Fuller of New Mexico, Phillip Hoffmann of New York, Geraldine Hoffmann of Tucson, and John Hoffmann of Florida. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Phil, and Joseph, and a sister, Ann.
