Hans von Reinsperg, Wilmette Village trustee for the past four years, died at his home, 726 Laurel avenue, last Friday morning after a lingering illness. He was 53 years old. Mr. von Reinsperg was a corporation lawyer, with offices at 77 West Washington street, Chicago. He had practiced law in Chicago for the past seventeen years. He was born in Germany and came to this country in 1904. Mr. von Reinsperg's second term as a member of the Wilmette Village board would have expired in April. He was first elected to the board for a two year term in 1927 and was reelected in 1929. During both his terms on the Village board, Mr. von Reinsperg was chairman of the public service committee and a member of several other committees of the board. He took a leading part in the movement for the erection of Wilmette's new garbage incinerator and was instrumental in brining about the purchase of squad cars for the Wilmette Police department. Besides taking an active part in Wilmette Village affairs as a member of the Village board, Mr. von Reinsperg was a member of the Wilmette Civic league and the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce. He was also justice of the peace of New Trier township, and only recently had resigned as a member of the New Trier board of auditors. In church and lodge activities he was also active. He was a member of the Wilmette English Lutheran church, of Wilmette Lodge No. 931, A.F. and A.M.; Wilmette chapter No. 253, Royal Arch Masons, and of the Evanston commandery, Knights Templar. Several years ago Mr. von Reinsperg was secretary of the Germania club and was active in that organization. He was a member of the German Student club of Chicago and of the Chicago chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, law fraternity. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara von Reinsperg, by two sons, Arno Hans, 16 years old, Walter, 12, and by twin daughters Grete and Else, 15. All of the children, with the exception of Walter, are attending New Trier High school. Walter attends the Wilmette Public schools. Masonic funeral services were held at Scott's funeral home, 1118 Greenleaf avenue, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock and were in charge of Wilmette Lodge No. 931, A.F. and A.M. Ernest C. Cazel, past master of Wilmette lodge and an associate of Mr. von Reinsperg on the Village board, performed the last rites with the usual ceremonies of the craft, this being by request of Mr. von Reinsperg several weeks previous to his death.
