Janet L. Mizener (nee Linthicum), 85, longtime resident of Wilmette, wife of the late Blair W.; mother of Jeffery (Ellen) and Todd (Lisa); grandmother of Andrew, Brendon and Maureen; sister of the late Francis D. Linthicum and the late Eleanor L. Boynton; aunt to Chris Mizener and great-aunt to Christopher and Kathleen. Janet was a dedicated and active Republican who served as the president of the Women's Republican Club of New Trier and a volunteered with the New Trier Republican Organization. She enjoyed listening to the Cubs on the radio, gardening and the occasional vodka martini on rocks with an olive. Janet was also a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority, Beta Chapter, and a 1940's graduate of Northwestern University. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Memorial visitation and service was held Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, Wilmette. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 208 South La Salle Street, Chicago, IL 60604-1109. Funeral info: Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, (847) 251-8200.
