Gretta A. (nee Miller) Fiegen, 96, of Wilmette died July 27 in Evanston Hospital.
Mrs. Fiegen was born April 23, 1912, in Wilmette to Nicholas J. and Margaret Schaefer Miller. They family resided in Gross Point, Ill. until it became part of Wilmette in the 1930s.
She was educated at Mallinckrodt School in Wilmette. She continued to be active with the alumni association, attending her 78th reunion last year at the age of 95.
Mrs. Fiegen also was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Wilmette, a contributor to the Wilmette Historical Society, a volunteer at Glenkirk and an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Fiegen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fiegen, on May 10, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, John of Wilmette and Beaver Island, Mich., and Mark of Highland Park; three daughters, Linda of Wilmette, Diane (Kenneth) Boehm of Lincolnwood and Karen Bryant of Wilmette; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Richard Miller, Jackie Meier, Doris Coulter and Daniel Miller; and one brother-in-law, Robert Fiegen of Wilmette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and a daughter, Sister Marius, OSF.
Services were held July 29 at St. Joseph Church in Wilmette.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Wilmette.
